Vish View
There are movies that keep us wondering what really happened onscreen.'Men' falls under that category. The viewer can interpret the hidden meanings of the story after the movie, which can vary according to each person.I guess that is the beauty of the film.
The main theme of the movie, as the name itself suggests, is men. The movie shows the disturbing behavior of a number of men (all played brilliantly by Rory Kinnear)towards a woman.
For all of them, she is an object, not a person.
That's how they treat her - something to satisfy their needs and when she refuses it, they all become angry and violent. This behavior is the same for all the male characters in the movie, which is stating that most men think they are superior to a woman - which itself is thought-provoking and disturbing.
The movie is not easy to watch as it has some disturbing visuals, just like the message it conveys to the audience.
If you are a fan of the director or love films that deal with dark themes, this is your cup of tea.
If not, avoid it.
