Plot

Sam Foster (Ewan McGregor) is a psychiatrist. He lives with his girlfriend, Laila (Naomi Watts). One day, an art student called Henry Letham (Ryan Gosling)comes for a section. He tells Sam he is going to commit suicide in 3 days. Sam must stop Henry from killing himself and to do that he must find out what went wrong in Henry's life.

So, that is the story you will understand from the first 30 minutes of the movie. Then it gets complicated.
