Sasha (Sara Montpetit) gets very uncomfortable if she sees violence. She loves to play her harmonium and watch magic. Normally this won't be a problem because that is how most girls behave. But Sasha is not a normal girl - she is a vampire and no violence means she doesn't know how to hunt her prey - and it is a big problem - something she must figure out soon...

Vish View

Confused about what to do - disappointed parents - young love - even if the movie is a vampire story, it felt like a family drama.

Sara Montpetit was brilliant.

It is the cutest vampire story ever.

Loved it.

Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror

Director: F.W Murnau

Genre:  Horror/Fantasy

Language: German/English

Year:1922

Plot

Year 1838.
Thomas Hutter is an estate agent. He is sent to Count Orlok's castle in Transylvania to prepare documents as Orlok plans to buy a new house in town. While traveling Hutter receives some bad signs from local folks while mentioning Orlok. Soon, he will discover why...

Vish View

Nosferatu is an unofficial adaptation of Bram Stocker's Dracula. Because of the legal problems related to rights from Stocker Estate, the filmmakers were forced to change the character names and some parts of the original story. Even so, the film is a classic example of a gothic horror film. Max Schreck's performance as Count Orlock is iconic. We can see its influence in various films throughout history. The film inspires filmmakers even today.

For me, this is the oldest film I have watched in my life It was a different experience watching this silent film and I enjoyed it very much.

I am looking forward to the 2024 remake written and directed by Robert Eggers.

Yojimbo

Language: Japanese

Year:1961

Plot

Set in feudal Japan, the film explores the events in a village ruled by two rival gangs. When an unnamed Samurai enters the village, the gang leaders try to hire him to their side. So whom will the warrior choose?

Vish View

My first Akira Kurosawa film.

I have watched only a few black-and-white movies. So this was something new for me.

The film is from 1961. Even so, the story felt good and the actors looked cool like illustrations from a comic book. I have read that Rajinikanth's style in the films is inspired by the hero of this film.

Good watch.

Maybe I will explore more old films in the future...

Vish View

I haven't watched any of the other shows based on Citadel - so no comparison is possible. The names of Raj and DK attracted me to the show because I love their work, and this is no different. Thrilling spy story set in the 90s and 2000s - this is a binge watch material.

Everybody was good, but special mention to Kay Kay Menon - he outshined everyone.

My favorite thing about Blake Crouch is that even if he is writing about high-level scientific stuff, the story always gives importance to human emotions - the reader will be able to feel what his characters are feeling - which makes it another beautiful read. Loved it.

Vish View

Nag Aswin has crafted a tale that can be called a perfect sequel to Mahabharatha - a story set in a period spanning between centuries. He has mixed Indian mythology and sci-fiction in a perfect blend and delivered a masterpiece film with technical brilliance, in a first of its kind in Indian Cinema, backed by a supreme group of stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Hassan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and many more...

This is the first film in the Kalki Universe and is a MUST WATCH if you are a lover of Indian Cinema - because my friend - this is a historic achievement of a young talented director which must be witnessed on the big screen only...

Kill

Director: Nikhil Nagesh Bhat

Genre:  Action

Language: Hindi

Year:2024

Plot

The movie is inspired by a true incident on a train where a Gurkha soldier fought a group of 40 bandits and saved the day. ' KILL' was marketed as 'the most violent Indian film' - makers provided exactly what was promised, making it a perfect watch.

Vish View

For a film in this genre to work well, it is necessary to connect emotionally with the audience. Here it is created by the well-written characters and events. We can feel the anger that the hero is feeling and so when he brutally kills the villains, we are also satisfied. I liked how well-written the film was - giving justice to every action and result. For example, a villain who kills a boy is later killed not by the hero, but by the boy's mother.

Laksya has arrived - a new action hero is born in a film that itself is a benchmark in the Bollywood action genre. Waiting to see his upcoming projects.

I have seen Raghav Juyal before - as a talented dancer who mesmerized the audience - as a funny anchor who makes the audience laugh - but hey this transformation I never expected from him. Fani is one of the greatest villains of all time - such a brilliant performance - just slayed it...

Nice to see Asishj back as a baddy. Tanya was also perfect with her beautiful performance...

The director and crew deserve all the appreciation for making a film like this and giving such a raw experience...

If you don't have a problem with seeing blood, go and enjoy the ride....
