'Hereditary' is not a film with jump scares and ghosts that comes out of darkness..It is a film which will disturb you with it's eerie background score and terrify you with the single frames -frames that are enough to give nightmares in your sleep..

It is a film that I won't suggest for people ..because i am not sure everyone can watch it with ease Anyway,if you are brave enough to experience a whole new level of horror,this is the film for you

The VVitch: A New-England Folktale

In 1630,New England, William (Ralph Ineson) and his family is banished from the village after questioning the Church authorities.Will is a firm beliver in Jesus and so is his family members.Along with his wife,daughter Thomasine(Anya Taylor Joy),son Caleb,twins Mercy and Jonas and baby Samuel,he moves near the woods,hoping to start a new life.But the woods belonged to the Witches and things goes terribly wrong for the poor family.

Remember when you see a nightmare and wants to wake up as soon as possible? That is how the film will make you feel.Not a single frame of joy in the whole movie with terrifying background music.

Disturbing watch.

The film follows little Moonee and her friends.They take us back to that beautiful period of our life - a period when we were free and innocent- our childhood.But as the movie progresses,we get a look at the harsh reality of life also. Evenif they are living in Disneyland,there is no magic happening when it comes to money.Bria Vinai gives a brilliant performance as the loving mother who struggles to feed her little girl.For me,Willem Dafoe was always Norman Osborn of Spider-man. But this film changes that - I will remember him as Boby,the hotel manager,who seems bold,but who is actually a caring guy

Remember those films which will bring tears into your eyes by the end ? This one belongs to that category.

A brilliant sci fiction film from the director of 'Ex Machina' It got everything -great performances,mystery,thrill,beautiful visuals, chilling horror and a twist at the end of it all.

Excellent watch.

Ashok's family decides to proceed the legal actions with a very famous criminal lawyer.In order to win the case,Sameera decides to seek the help of investigation officer, Vikram Vasudevan (Adivi Sesh).Vikram is a corrupt police officer,who will do anything for money.As both of them discuss the case,an event from the past comes out - an event related to some dark secrets...

 "Evaru' is the official remake of the famous Spanish thriller  'Contratiempo'.Earlier this year there was a bollywood remake of the same film,called "Badla'The only change in hindi reamke from the original was the gender swap of the characters.But in 'Evaru',even if the basic story is same,there are changes and twists ,which makes it an engaging watch for someone who has watched the original Spanish film or the Hindi remake.For someone who has not watched any of the two,'Evaru' will be a thrilling experience

Sam is obsessed with the idea of finding a ghost,so that she can ask it to contact her mother.She has three best friends -Gablu (Mikkahal Gandhi),Bunty (Palash Kamble) and her dog,Together they form 'The Ghost Club'.

According to an old book owned by Sam,which is rumored to be written by a ghost,there is a Ghost in an abandoned bungalow in their locality.

But things change when a family from Mumbai moves into Bardez Villa,which is haunted by the Ghost of Sulthanpur.

'Typewriter' is another Hindi original series produced by Netflix.It is a tale of adventure,love,friendship and horror.

Season 1 is only 5 episodes - perfect for binge-watching.

It is a good show backed with some cute performances by the kids and a decent mystery story.

There are films that touch our souls and remain in our hearts for the rest of our life and this one belongs to that category.

The film is based on true events.It is the story of Saroo,a five year old Indian boy (Sunny Pawar) who get lost in the streets of Kolkata.He is adopted by an Australian couple.When he grow up ,Saroo(Dev Patel),tries to find out about his mother and brother.But he got no information about them,other than his childhood memories.This is the story of that man,who was not ready to give up.He tries to track down the location using Google maps

This is an emotional story and deals with the themes of love and loss.Also,it shows the life of the poor people of our country and it is kind of shocking.

All the actors were brilliant in their roles.But the gem among them is the kid,Sunny Pawar.Even after the headset is removed,his sound still echoes in ears.

There are so many emotional scenes in the film.But for me,the one where Saroo meets his mother again is the point where the tears started flooding down the eyes.Before the credits rolls,we will be able to see the real people on whom the story is based.

I went straight to my mother and hugged her after watching the movie.That is how deep this has touched me.A great watch..

End of the day,it feels good to know that there is still some goodness left in this world.

We bought a Zoo

For a change he decides to relocate.He buys a house and along with it a zoo attached to it.

Now he must work together with the zoo workers and reopen the zoo.Also he must learn to let go of his memories of his wife and build a strong relationship with his children.

Matt Damon takes the film on his shoulders and gives a stunning performance as Benjamin.Scarlett Johansson,Colin Ford,Maggie Jones etc also gives good performance as the supporting cast.

This one is a feel good movie about love,loss and starting over.

" You know,sometimes all you need is twenty seconds of insane courage.Just literally twenty seconds of just embarrassing bravery..And I promise you,something great will come of it  "

A ghost story told in a brilliant style...
There are films which will create an impact in the viewer's mind..' The Orphange' belongs to that list.

A  Spanish horror classic...

The Dark Knight III: The Master Race

Frank Miller is the guy who created ' The Dark Knight Returns' - a graphic novel which became a cult classic.It was one of my first Batman graphic novel,which was given to me by a senior,when I was doing my degree.It was a great read,but I was never a fan of Miller's art.

Then came it's sequel 'Dark Kinght Strikes Again' which was a total disappointment.Then came the DC Animation original movies - two parts which based on 'Dark Knight Returns' which was pretty awesome.Then in B v S,we saw Ben Affleck's Batman,highly influenced by Miller's version. Zack Zynder showed respect to the classic graphic novel by recreating some scenes from the panels into the big screen.

In 2017 Miller came back with the third part,taking us back to the world of Dark knight .Bruce Wayne still fights crime from the shadows,with the help of Carrie.But when a group of Kryptonians,escaped from the prison created by Superman,and conquer the whole world,Bruce has to bring back his old pals one more time,and take a stand against the villains.

Miller is good with the words as always and this time the art is done by fan favorite Batman artist Andy Kubert,which is good. Even if we can find,he has altered his style similar to Millers,it is pretty good and satisfying. There are surprises and return of favorite characters and end of the day,DK III is a worthy sequel,one which live up to it's legacy.

High Life

Monte (Robert Pattinson) was a crminal serving life sentemce in a prison.He was offered with an opportunity to do something that will help the human kind ,or that was what he was told...He along with some other prisoners and a scientist have to go on a suicidal mission - they must travel to outer space to find out the secrets of a black hole..Things goes terribly wrong and the only two peope left on the spaceship are Monte and his newborn daughter -Willo...This is their story.

Even if it is a science fiction story it is disturbing because of the way it is portrayed by the director and beacuse of the brilliant performance by Pattinson.He easily conveys the fear and lonliness  Monte feels - all alone in the outer space with an innocent baby to look after....

'High Life' is not your regular science fiction adventure movie.It is dark..It is disturbing..And in all that chaos,it got a light shining somewhere - exactly the reason you should watch it..... 

Sahoo

The film is set in a futuristic India.Vaji is a Metropoltic city ruled by gangster groups.Their leader,Roy(Jackie Shroff) decides to make the businness deals legal.Shortly after,he is murdered in a car crash.Roy's son Vishwank (Arun Vijay) comes out of his hideout,to take control of the business empire.To truly rule all the gangs,he must open a locker that contains a large amount of money.It can be which can be opened by using a black- box,which is hidden somewhere in Mumbai city.So basically,the owner of the black-box becomes the King.

A robbery of 250 crores takes place in Mumbai.Police is unable to capture the culprit.A special undercover cop Ashok Chakravarty is assigned for investigation.He is provided a team which includes Officers Amritha Nair(Shraddha Kapoor),Goswami (Vennela Kishore) and hacker David (Murali Sharma),to assist in the investigation.They must capture the robber whose next target is the blackbox.And as the days,passes,Amritha and Ashok falls in love with each other.

As the gangsters arrive in Mumbai in search of the black-box,Ashok and team also plan to find the black box and arrest the thief in the act.So begins the game of cat and mouse.The only question being -Who is the mouse and who is the cat?

Sahoo is the Prabhas film that came after Bahubali duo logy,with a budget of 350 crores.It came out as a multi language film in Hindi,Telugu,Tamil and Malaylam.The hype was so high for this film.But the first reviews that came out were negative.I watched this on second day evening.So how is 'Sahoo'?

There are a lot which should have been done better - the vfx is terrible ( I wonder where the 350 crores is spent).There was scope for screenplay to be better also....

The first half ends with a twist and then there is anther big twist in the climax. Prabhas looked cool and Sraddha looked beautful.Arun Vijay,Lal - both of them made an impact. Chumky Pandey and Neel Nithin Mukesh failed to impress.

It is the typical Telugu flick with some great action sequences and a somewhat predictable story.

It is not great,but an above average watch.
